GR Engineering Services Limited (GRES) specialises in providing high quality engineering design and construction services to the mining and mineral processing industries. Our services cover all aspects of a project life cycle from the initial evaluation and study phase through to design, constructions, commissioning and operational support.
We are currently seeking a QC Inspector (SMP) to join our growing site based team. As a QC Inspector reporting to the Project Quality Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of inspection activities and ensuring the implementation of the project’s quality management policy/plan. This role will be based on site with a roster of 2 weeks on, 1 week off.
You will be an expert in all things Structural , Mechanical and Piping with a thorough understanding of AS 5131, AS 4100, AS 1554.1 along with a working knowledge of the requirements of ISO 9001.
Being a skilled negotiator, you would be able to develop great working relationships within clients, vendors and team members alike. You would have a calm disposition and wouldnt get ruffled in difficult situations.
The suitable applicant would be responsible for : (but not limited to )
- Providing technical advice and assistance to the Project team on all quality related activities.
- Implementation of the project quality management system, quality plans and ITP’s.
- Register complaints received and non-conformances identified.
- Liaise with client inspection representatives, undertaking routine surveillance inspections.
- Assist with the production, completion and collation of relevant verification documentation.
- Compile MDR & quality assurance records and ensure qualification records are maintained and managed.
- Execution of inspection points as determined by the ITP requirements.
- Completion of inspection records and work packs.
- Assurance of supplier quality requirements including supplier audits.
- Perform structural/mechanical and piping inspections
In addition to the attributes noted above, the successful candidate also requires the following skills and qualifications:
- Relevant trade qualification (Quantity Surveying, Welding, Piping, Structural/Civil).
- NACE Qualification/equivalent or having thorough knowledge and experience in painting inspection.
- Minimum of 10 years in a site inspectors role -preferably in a processing plant environment
- Proven experience within ISO 9001 Quality Management.
- Understanding of welding processes and inspection requirements.
- Knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to quality and their application.
- Advanced written communications skills with the ability to prepare reports, plans, technical instructions etc.
- Confident user of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including ability to develop relationships with all project personnel.
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
- Full and unrestricted Australian working rights
- The ability to provide a full and clean National Police Clearance
