About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a QHSE Coordinator to join Intertek Australia. The QHSE Coordinator is responsible for managing all matters relating to quality, health, safety, and environment. This is a senior coaching, influencing and compliance role that will be required to drive continual cultural change through the World of Energy Business and will serve as the central point of contact and expertise for all QHSE issues. This will involve:
- Development of systems and processes to drive the culture of an injury free workplace.
- Assist with the development and coordination of the company Traineeship program.
- Ensure work systems and processes are fully compliant to all local and national legislation.
- Facilitate the investigations of significant injuries, complaints, and areas of non-conformance.
- Perform periodic site inspections to monitor compliance with policies and procedures and provide improvement plans to educate workers where required.
- Manage all Workers Compensation matters.
- Coordinate and develop the annual training program for technical staff.
- Maintain the OH&S databases and records.
- Maintain and assist in developing the required QHSE material.
- Proactively lead the required accreditation and certification programs.
- Ensure adequate communication and consultation on GHSE issues.
- Actively participate and engage with all team members, striving to develop a high performing team that celebrates team goals, tackles challenges as they arise, drives continual improvement, and embraces innovation and continual change.
Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in quality, safety, chemistry, sciences or similar.
- Highly developed understanding in the management of health, safety, and quality systems.
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of accreditation and certification programs (ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 17020, and ISO 45001.
- Previous exposure to various commercial operating environments, including laboratories, marine environments, cargo environment, processing, and refinery environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Moderate Microsoft Office and Email skills.
