Mowbray Golf Club’s home is in the northern suburbs of Launceston, Tasmania.
Its rich and diverse story began when the club was formed in 1934 as a 9-hole course. The 1960s saw the expansion of the course into the 18-hole layout you play today measuring 6000+ metres in length with two Par-5s, three Par-3s and the remaining holes being Par-4s.
The Club is looking to appoint a highly motivated, suitably qualified Greenkeeper, to work in a supportive environment.
Reporting to the Course Superintendent, the key responsibilities will include:- Assist with the daily maintenance, management, and operation of the golf course and its surrounds
- Spraying of chemicals and application of fertilisers
- Maintenance of equipment
- Ensure all club policies and procedures are correctly adhered to
- A minimum Certificate 3 in Horticulture - Turf Management
- Spray certificate (Chemcert or equivalent)
- A current drivers licence
- Willingness to work flexible hours including some Saturdays.
- Experience in a similar position or several years in horticulture/turf management
- Good communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of OHS practices.
- Experience and knowledge in chemical and fertiliser application.
- Experience with irrigation including maintenance, repairs, and programming.
- Applicants must have working rights within Australia.
- Horticulture and landscaping experience will be advantageous.
