About the RoleAs a Locomotive Driver, you will prepare and operate locomotives and trains in a safe manner that complies with operational procedures. In tandem with this objective, you will play a key role in ensuring that customer and operational requirements are met, with a particular focus on safety, delivery and quality.
Key responsibilities include:Performing/coordinating shunting movements, both independently and in cooperation with Shift Managers, in accordance with established procedures and standards. Processing and monitoring train performance information. Provisioning and preparing locomotives for train operations including checking and testing control systems as well as preparing relevant compliance documentation.
Working with key internal stakeholders to work towards a Delivered In-Full, On-Time (DIFOT) performance for the Pacific National group. Proactively working towards and supporting the achievement of safety goals.

About YouThe ideal candidate will be qualified as a Mainline Locomotive Driver and you will also possess the following skills, attributes and experience:A high regard for safety and a positive and supportive attitude when working within a team environmentA basic level of computer proficiencyA strong customer focused approach to your work
Passion for success and willingness to undertake ongoing training and development activitiesA genuine interest in adding value and helping our business to grow
Current motor vehicle licence is essential. Certified Qualified Locomotive Driver (evidence of certification may be requested)Please note that you must be available and flexible to work a 24/7 roster.
