Working closely with the General Manager Organisational Quality and Risk, members of the Quality and Risk Department, General/Senior Managers, Program Managers, Clinical Managers, Service Coordinators and employees, the Quality Advisor utilises research, standards, contemporary/ best practice, industry data and legislation to support and inform employees in the management of risks and the provision of high quality care and services.
The Quality Advisor is a key leadership role dedicated to instilling the principles of continuous quality improvement and risk management throughout the organisation, ensuring responsive systems and processes are in place and contributing to a safe work environment for employees and positive outcomes for residents and clients. They are responsible for the ongoing development and evaluation of all components of the quality and risk management system with key responsibilities and accountabilities to specified service/program areas. The role also provides support and assistance to mecwacare’s other service/program areas as required.
ESSENTIAL:
- Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse or Allied Health Professional
- A formalised qualification and/or a minimum of two years experience in quality/risk management.
- Comprehensive understanding of quality and risk management principles, frameworks and methodology.
- Knowledge and experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of systems, processes, policies and procedures.
- Satisfactory completion of a National Police Records Check
- Proficiency in Microsoft Software
- Current Victorian Driver’s License
- Comprehensive understanding of the statutory regulations pertinent to Residential Aged Care Services, Community Aged Care Services and Disability Services.
- Knowledge of relevant service/funding streams
- Knowledge and skills in project management and evaluation
- Registered Quality Assessor
- Successful completion of the Aged Care Quality Assessor’s Course
