Role summary
Review, support, develop, maintain, and oversee the Quality and Compliance of Empower Living’s services and structural operations and systems, in accordance the NDIS standards and regulations.
Ensure that the policies and procedures are always up to date to prevent and identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues. The QCO will contribute to the implementation of business improvement programs and will advise of the best strategies to meet the criteria of the NDIS Audit and Quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the quality and compliance systems in the organisation, allocating tasks to people as required and completing own tasks simultaneously
- Assist the organisation in preparing for internal and external audits each time
- Investigate complaints and reportable incident notifications, analysing trends and patterns and areas for improvement
- Assist with various reporting and control functions related to NDIS reportable incidents and positive behaviour support plan authorisations
- Contribute to providing policy advice and responses to external enquires
- Assist each area of the organisation to understand their respective quality and compliance obligations
- Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously
- Assess the business’s future ventures to identify possible compliance risks
- Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate
- Identify training needs and commicate it to the appropriate team to organise training
- Working with staff and managers to ensure the efficiency and integrity of the document management system in line with agreed targets and expected level of quality in a high-volume working environment
- Provide assistance and training to Empower Living staff to ensure the continuity of the work done
- Assist the managers and staff in implementing process improvement techniques and the tools to monitor them to ensure efficiency while maintaining the integrity of the service
Requirements
- At least 1 year experience in a related quality, risk, and compliance position
- Demonstrated microsoft skills
- Strong communication skills
- In-depth knowledge and experience working across the NDIS and compliance
- Ability to take on new responsibilities as the program evolves
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping
- Strong understanding of software, Microsoft office and able to use technology to maximize effectiveness and efficiencies
- An analytical mind able to “see” the complexities of procedures and regulations

- Valid Police Check
- NDIS Worker screening check
- WWVP card
- NDIS induction module
