The Quality Assurance Production Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring that our manufacturing processes and products meet the stringent quality standards our customers expect.

You will provide support to our manufacturing team for targets to be met and implement improvements to optimise efficiency while supporting continuous improvement of the manufacturing operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure production, planning and other departments are communicated with and updated on any quality issues likely to impact customer service or delivery of finished goods.
  • Provides solutions to identified production problems
  • Analyses Manufacturing rejects as required to reclaim where possible, identify, and rectify root causes of rejects.
  • Ensures NCR's, and Concessions are processed accurately and effectively
  • Ensures adherence and compliance to the Quality System and relevant regulatory bodies
  • Identifies opportunities for safety, quality and cost improvements on the Manufacturing lines
  • Actively participate in daily operational meetings and Operational Excellence project activities to support the site.
  • Maintain and monitor existing systems to support internal and external needs as well as identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies, costs and accuracy.
  • Lead investigation (RCA) as necessary to review production deviations, first time quality misses and emerging trends. Identify and implement long term sustainable solutions to avoid repeat failures in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Run regular quality workshops for the manufacturing / operations and warehouse teams.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures in conjunction with the respective stake holders
  • Be directly involved with the New Product Introduction process and layout, ensuring key control points are established and monitored.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering. Preferably Electrical / Mechanical, Manufacturing or Mechatronics.
  • 2 years+ experience in a similar Manufacturing role within a highly regulated industry
  • Experience in working within a Quality Management system
  • Proven competencies in problem solving, design, manufacturing / business process development and personal influence
  • Experience with project management tools
  • Experience in working within Manufacturing Management system (e.g. LEAN)
  • Excellent interpersonal, English communication skills;
  • Practical computer skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, be self-motivated and proactive;

Experience, Education and Qualification:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering. Preferably Electrical / Mechanical, Manufacturing or Mechatronics.
  • Previous experience in operational / manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience working with Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement principles (preferably Green Belt trained).
