About Your Next Role:

We are currently seeking a Quality Control Chemist who displays initiative and self-motivation. This role is in a fast-paced environment and requires someone with good attention to detail and ability to learn quickly.

Reporting to the Regulatory & Quality Manager, this key role requires independent management of work whilst liaising between multiple departments, playing a crucial role in maintaining our high standards in testing, production, quality system processes and raw materials supply. 

Your daily responsibilities will include Quality Control testing, investigation and resolution of product quality problems, overseeing existing formulations and raw materials, maintaining laboratory Quality Control testing records and procedures, and delivering improvements to production process that result in either reduced cost or improved quality. 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Undertake all QC testing and record keeping of liquid, powder and tablet products being manufactured
  • Provide formula adjustments to production batches that do not meet QC specifications
  • Generation of product certificate of analysis for each batch manufactured for availability
  • Undertake all retention sample checks, factory swabbing, calibrations and water testing, among others, in accordance with our quality system and company values of delivering quality products
  • Manage the product documentation and retention samples systems 
  • Conduct sample collection for external analysis (i.e. Microbiology) on finished goods, including controlling final product release, or quarantine of non-compliant products
  • Investigate problems with finished goods, received through customers, distributors or internal staff
  • Manage the raw material certificate of analysis register
  • Undertake projects to improve Quality Control and production processes related to efficiency, time, or filling processes. This may be improvement-based or remediation of process problems.

Key Skills:

To be successful you will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, qualifications, skills and behaviours:

  • A tertiary qualification in Science, preferably with a Chemistry major
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is desirable
  • Experience in cleaning product formulation is highly desirable. Experience with personal care products is a bonus. 
  • Knowledge of HACCP and GMP standards and/or the ability to undertake learning in this area
  • Good communication, literacy and IT skills in order to competently navigate the laboratory and company systems. 
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, to achieve set goals, as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Problem solving and technical competency.
  • Able to follow written procedures.
