What you'll be doing

We are looking for a driven intern to come and join our Quality Team in Liverpool. This is a paid 12-month fixed contract with immediate start date.

Quality Assurance:

  • Apply quality tools to ensure manufacturing processes operate consistently within defined tolerances.

  • Analyse testing data for this purpose.

  • Maintain the calibration of factory equipment up to date.

  • Ensure calibration records are kept and in compliance to Prysmian Group Standards.

  • Develop/ update methods for testing/inspecting cables to ensure full compliance to standards & customer specifications.

  • Review Supplier's Certificates of Conformance for raw materials.

  • Ensure that all documentation available at the shopfloor is the latest version.

  • Perform Quick Process Audits and Quality System Audits.

Support other Areas:

  • Perform product and process evaluations to identify areas for improvement.

  • Recommend solutions to identified problems.

  • Implement approved changes using sound Quality Engineering principles and fully document requirements.

  • Implement improvements to enhance Prysmian's Quality System, using the reduction of Cost of Poor Quality as a reference.

  • Provide support for technical documentation writing.

  • Facilitate continuous improvement and learning across all functional areas through training and communication of quality initiatives.

Who you are

Professional Knowledge:

  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering principles

  • Thorough understanding of problem solving and quality improvement tools & techniques (management & planning tools, preventive and corrective actions

  • quality tools

  • how to overcome barriers to quality improvements

  • Able to acquire and analyze data using standard quantitative methods Knowledge and experience of Customer requirements

  • Knowledge of various national and international cable standards

  • Equipment calibration principles & theories

  • Awareness of Safety, Environment and Quality policies and procedures

  • Experience working with Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001 compliance

Skills:

  • Prioritize Quality providing strong support to the factory.

  • Proactiveness

  • Creativity and Continuous Improvement, working in and for the Team; relating across levels

  • Communication and motivational skills, with an ability to engage people on current changes

  • Computer literacy (MS Office suite Word, Excel & Power Point)

  • Planning and Organising

  • Technical writing
