Quality Improvement Lead

The opportunity


As Key leader and technical advisor within the SA Operations team, the Quality Improvement Lead partners with the SA Leadership team, Operational leaders , National colleagues and staff to ensure safe, high quality care is delivered in line with the strategic directions and operational plans of RDNS Silverchain. 


The Quality Improvement Lead will operate with guidance from SA Leadership Team and will work closely with our National Care, Governance and Risk team to ensure the highest standard of clinical practice across the services; through the delivery and oversight of evidence based standardised clinical practice protocols and the achievement of the Aged Care Quality Standards and National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and the standards required across other regulators and funders.
 
Key responsibilities

  • Strategic and Operational Support: Facilitate the planning, delivery and achievement of key milestones and KPI’s from within RDNS Silverchain’s strategic and operational objectives related to safe, high-quality care delivery.
  • Quality Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert in the design and delivery of quality systems and initiatives, ensuring a clear focus and accountability across SA on safe and quality care across the breadth of our community services.
  • Collaboration and Change:  Actively collaborate with the Quality, Safety, and Risk Co-ordinator and colleagues from the National Care, Governance, and Risk team to implement organisation-wide change programs. These initiatives aim to enhance performance, innovation, and sustainability while maintaining high-quality, safe services.
  • Resource Oversight: Supervise and guide the work of allocated quality team members, ensuring adherence to Quality Standards and compliance obligations, delivering on program and/or project initiatives across RDNS Silverchain.
  • Risk Management: Effectively identify, manage, monitor, and report on both clinical and corporate risks within areas of responsibility.
  • Standards Implementation: Lead the program of work that supports the education, compliance and continuous improvement against the relevant standards, including the Aged Care Quality Standards and National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards, in collaboration with the Quality, Safety, and Risk Co-ordinator and the SA Leadership Team.
  • Staff Skills and Advice: Lead strategies to equip SA Operational staff with the necessary skills and understanding for high-quality service delivery, meeting compliance and quality standards. Lead and participate in projects related to areas of improvement and business needs.
  • Strategic Guidance: Provide strategic advice and recommendations to the SA Leadership team on significant compliance and quality-related issues, initiatives, and projects.

 
About you


You have passion with purpose and are driven by excellence. Your work and support enriches everyone. In addition, you will have the following skills:

  • Demonstrated expertise and understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards, National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and Quality standards of the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, engage, support, coach and mentor health professionals through an influencing approach. 
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of, and experience in, quality standards application, quality management systems and working within legislative and contractual frameworks/agreements to ensure compliance. 
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills to identify risk and make recommendations for change. 
  • Proven data analysis skills including utilisation of Microsoft Excel and other statistical software. 
  • An understanding of the regulatory environment and challenges of not-for-profit community aged and healthcare would be advantageous.
