Role
Reporting into the Quality Assurance Manager, the role of the Quality Officer will be the lead quality control and assurance lead at the south Brisbane site.
In this pivotal role, you will be the custodian of the product quality that enters and leaves the National DC. Working with the different stakeholders across the business to implement and maintain robust processes to ensure product conformance and improvement.
You will partner with a diverse team including the quality manager, QC team, distribution team, planning, procurement, and inventory teams to systematically lead and drive the transformation from quality control to quality assurance.
Key responsibilities include;
- Setup and maintain a receiving and final inspection area for incoming and outgoing goods
- Perform QC compliance checks against specifications, regulations and as per the inspection regime based on product criticality.
- Coordinate checks on product compliance and contribute to the overall development plan for compliance strategies and product quality improvement.
- Monitor, record and resolve product complaints in line with agreed actions
- Ensure timely reporting of any issue/events to Quality Manager for escalation/ communication
- Contribute towards review, upkeep and revision of procedures, work instructions for the management system and related activities to ensure relevance and effectiveness
- Maintain and oversee a system for uniform handling of non-conformances by identifying potential process gaps for risks, work with functional representatives and provide general guidance on corrective action plans for resolution.
- Assist in conducting supplier and due diligence audits towards establishing an effective value chain and provide feedback based on audits conducted.
Skills Required
- Experience in a quality assurance or quality control position
- Good team player, with a “can do” attitude
- Ability to read and interpret product drawings and specifications
- Highly process-driven and a logical thinker
- Skilled at building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders and supply partners
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence changes.
