Quarry Manager - Grantville Sand

The Dandy Premix Grantville Commercial Sands (GCS) quarry is located adjacent to the Bass Highway, about one kilometer north of the township of Grantville.

Primarily supplying concrete sand to the Dandy Premix concrete plants, the GCS state-of-the-art screening and blending plant operations, has the ability to produce a diversity of blended natural sands.

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Responsible for Safety Performance of employees and subcontractors in conjunction with Legislative Requirements and the Mine Safety Management Plan.
• Responsible for meeting and achieving production targets.
• Responsible for Quality Control in conjunction with Client’s requirements and the site-specific Quarry Management Plan.
• Responsible for Environmental Management and conformance in conjunction with Legislative requirements and the site-specific Environmental management plan.
• Responsible for Continuous improvement.
• Responsible for Co-ordinating Trucks Drivers, Product Deliveries and associated Tasks.
• Responsible for Quarry development and ongoing production plans for the Quarry.
• Hazard identification through active completion of the risk assessment process.
• Responsible for Sales Targets and Budgets.
• Complete associated POS reviews, load sheets and collate paperwork daily.
• Weekly reporting to the Managing Director.

Required skills and experience:

• Diploma of Surface Operations Management (RII50120)
• Experience in Quarry Operations Management 
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Current driver’s license. Preferably HR or HC
• Strong Management & Leadership Skills
• Knowledge & Experience in Continuous Improvement strategies.
• Knowledge & Experience with Fixed & Mobile Crushing Plants
• Knowledge & Experience with Earthmoving / Quarry Machinery
• Knowledge & Experience managing production costs versus budget.
• Good communication skills.
• Enthusiastic team member.
• Adaptability
• Diploma of Business (Advantage not essential)
