Quarry Operator - Yarra Valley

Dandy Premix Quarries is seeking experienced and reliable Multiskilled Team Leader/ Leading Hand to join their team at Yarra Valley.

Located at the base of Mt Toolebewong, Yarra Valley Quarries (YVQ) is a long established hard rock (Hornfels) quarry producing concrete aggregates to the Dandy Premix concrete plants, as well as a range of VicRoads approved crushed rock products supplied to the Yarra Ranges Shire Council for local road works.

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Mobile plant operation including Front End Loader, Dump Truck, Excavator and Crushing.
• Carry out daily quarry operations and regular maintenance of various vehicles, plant and equipment.
• Complete daily pre-start checks on plant
• Participate in daily toolbox talks
• Develop a thorough understanding of Dandy Premix Quarries WHS policies and procedures
• Follow all instructions from Quarry Supervisor.

Required skills and experience:

• Various plant experience including Front End Loader, Dump Truck and Excavator
• Crushing plant experience
• PC, written and oral skills
• Good decision making skills
• Driver's license
• Experience working in a quarry environment
• Relevant RII tickets (not essential)
• Good communication skills
• Use of initiative, proactive and organised approached to work
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
