Quarry Supervisor | Lysterfield

QUARRY SUPERVISOR

Hanson is one of Australia's leading suppliers of heavy building materials to the construction industry. We produce aggregates, including crushed rock, sand, gravel and road base from a number of locations across Australia. We are currently recruiting for an experienced operations candidate to fill the role of Quarry Supervisor. The role will be based at our Lysterfield Quarry located approx. 45 minutes Southeast of Melbourne CBD, VIC.
Reporting to the Quarry Manager, this role will be multi-faceted responsible for supervising quarry operations with a focus on production and maintenance enhancement and improvement.

In your new role, you will be:

• Supervising the day-to-day pit operations and developing the site to deliver consistently and at a high standard
• Inspection and planning of all maintenance activities relating to mobile equipment onsite
• Responsible for mobile equipment budgeting
• Working together with the leadership team to achieve the best outcomes from a mobile equipment availability and utilization standpoint
• Managing people while bringing your team along the journey to successfully achieve goals
• Bringing a strong safety mindset and manage high-risk activities and reduce risk exposure for self and others

This role is a great fit for you if you:

• Have coached and developed your team with a focus on production enhancement and improvement, specifically around load and haul operations
• Industry related Diploma/Certificates would be advantageous
• Have experience with operating and maintaining heavy machinery such as front-end loader/dump trucks/excavators/bulldozer/grader/telehandler/EWP
• Are results-focused, self-motivated, and have a total commitment to risk management and Zero Harm
• Have a passion for delivering remarkable customer service and great results
• Are a team player who can multi-task and make quick effective decisions under pressure
• A positive presence in building strong and effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
• Are a natural problem solver and enjoy planning
• Take ownership and accountability of the environment you work in identifying and actioning areas for improvement autonomously

What we offer:

• Negotiable salary from $85,000, plus fully maintained company vehicle, plus super
• Start time between 5am - 7am and working on average approx. 10-hour shifts (plus any reasonable overtime)
• Monday to Friday
