The Mt Buller Ski and Snowboard School is currently seeking a suitably experienced person to manage of our Race & Events Department (RED). As the supervisor you will be responsible for the efficient, safe and consistent service delivery of quality events for our guests working closely with the event organizers and other resort stakeholders. The successful candidate will lead a small team and coordinate all the requirements for our events and race training. Each season the Events Department conducts over 200 events over the three month period with the largest comprising of the Victorian Interschools Snow Sports Championships.
Employment is over the 2024 winter season and commence at the start of June through to mid September 2024
As the supervisor you will be primarily responsible for :
- Coordinating with event organizers, key stake holders and other Buller Ski Lifts Departments
- Leading and managing a a small team
- Setting up infrastructure and event locations
- Plan event locations, event structures
- Resolving customer concerns
- Delivering quality events to event organizers
- Organizing and managing event staff rosters
- Controlling costs & adhering to budget
To be successful in this role you must possess the following:
- Knowledge of ski and/or snowboard racing (on snow event experience) - GS, SL, SX, BX, XC, Slopestyle
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- A positive, flexible attitude and the ability to lead a team
- Ability to maintain a pleasant, professional manner under pressure
- Neat and well groomed appearance
- Alpine/Snowboard Coaching Qualifications - advantageous
- Alpine/Snowboard Instructor Qualifications - advantageous
- Knowledge of race timing software - advantageous
