The GenesisCare Radiation Oncology Fellow position is intended for those applicants that have completed their Radiation Oncology training and are looking to broaden and consolidate their clinical and research interest before launching fully into a consultant Radiation Oncology position. This is a supervised role with senior clinicians mentoring and providing clinical and research support for the successful applicant.
This position is based at our St Vincent’s clinic in Darlinghurst, NSW. Multidisciplinary meeting attendance, well-resourced clinics and access to contouring and planning using Monaco TPS both remotely and in the clinics is provided. The applicant will have the opportunity for state of the art treatment delivery on Elekta linacs. The position would allow exposure and involvement of cranial and extracranial stereotactic treatment, brachytherapy, MR-Linac and Theranostics.
This position provides a unique opportunity to gain exposure to an organisation that is involved in both public and private radiotherapy delivery in a well-supported environment. The candidate will have completed a minimum 4 years of accredited training in Radiation Oncology and successfully completed the FRANZCR Part 2 exams.
On offer is a permanent full-time position.
More specifically, you will:
- Provide day to day management of Radiation Oncology inpatients and outpatients under the direction or supervision of Radiation Oncologists.
- Gain additional experience in general Radiation Oncology and be responsible for the assessment of patients considered for radiotherapy, following through to contouring, dosimetry review and on-treatment review and follow-up.
- Develop your own specialty interests based on experience and mentorship provided in a safe and professional team environment.
- Participate in research, either in one of our existing projects or in a project of your own design in collaboration supervising radiation oncologists and other clinical researchers within our team, with the aim of presenting and/or publishing research work.
- MBBS or equivalent, registered or eligible to be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
- Completion of at least 4 years of accredited training in Radiation Oncology or other oncology speciality and successful completion of the FRANZCR Part II exams.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record and Working with Children Checks.
- Demonstrated high standard of clinical competency.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, evidence-based medicine and risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise.
- Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem-solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to demonstrate empathy for patients and their carers.
- Demonstrated interest in developing research skills and collaborating with other researchers.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Willingness to participate in teaching of medical students.
- A quality clinical, educational and developmental experience moving you towards independent consultancy.
