R&D Chemist/Formulation Specialist

We are currently looking for an experienced R&D Chemist/Formulation - Supplements to join the team at Nature’s Care. 

This is a permanent full-time position, based in Belrose. You will be responsible for the development of new products and improving existing products. The role is responsible for formulating and delivering new products to the market through planning and implementing development projects from concept through to full scale production. 

 Key Responsibilities:

• Formulation development of all dosages in supplements, vitamins etc, including tablet, hard and soft capsules, powder, liquid, jelly, gummy, etc.
• Conducting lab trials, and organising scale up trials.
• Establishing the relevant production procedures for new products.
• Trouble shooting production problems if the formulation or ingredients need to be adjusted; 
• Optimizing either the formulation and/or the production procedures for existing products.
• Assisting QAQC in evaluation of raw materials.
• Supporting Sales and Marketing in new product development, including but not limited to providing suggestions, ideas, and explanations. 
• Assisting Internal Audit.
• Ad hoc duties or internal support when requested.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Degree in Science/Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Formulation or a similar discipline.
• A minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in dosage and formulation design (tablet, hard and soft capsules, liquid, powder, gummy, etc.) 
• A strong interest in product formulation and innovation 
• A background in nutrition and chemistry
• Strong understanding of a GMP environment
• Technical support for large scale production will be an advantage 
• Familiarity with TGA guidelines will be an advantage 
• Good knowledge in complementary medicine will an advantage, but not necessary 
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent time management skills with ability to manage multiple projects at the same time within strict timeframes.
• Hardworking with ability to work as part of an integrated team in an exceptionally creative and fast-paced environment.
