The Opportunity
We are looking for an accomplished and seasoned R&D Innovation Manager with solid technical knowledge of the Automotive industry (Undercar) to spearhead our product development programs, managing the lifecycle of both existing and new products.
With a scope that will see you working across many touchpoints of our business, and customers, you will become the subject matter expert, building knowledge and intellectual property that helps deliver a sustainable advantage.
Commercially astute and naturally inquisitive, you will enjoy the diversity the role brings, whether it is designing technical solutions, market research & analysis or working closely with key suppliers to ensure our products remain industry-leading and at the forefront of technology & innovation.
Overseeing a team of product engineers, you will also provide;
- Product, Market Research - Undertake research to gain insights that drives the form and function requirements of new designs.
- People Leadership - Lead, Coach and guide team building a depth of capability and fostering an innovative, collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Compliance & Documentation - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new products, and product improvements.
- Prototype Development- Create prototypes and 3D models to evaluate and refine design concepts, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and assist in the development of branding and packaging materials
- Supplier Engagement- Attend Industry exhibitions and events locally and internationally.
What are we looking for?
- Formal qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (Chartered Engineer or working towards)
- Sound working knowledge of innovation process, and regulations within the automotive/OE market
- Impeccable communication and interpersonal skills with natural ability to build and maintain strong relationships across all levels
- Result focused with strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Confidence to challenge established ways of working with new processes and procedures,
- Energised by a customer focused, consumer driven business with a strong and innovative team culture.
