Baldivis Law & Mediation (‘BL&M’) is an industrious law firm located in the rapidly growing suburb of Baldivis, south of Perth. We offer high quality advice and legal representation to a diverse range of individual and corporate clients. We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic Receptionist / Legal Secretary to join our dynamic team as we continue to expand.

Your tasks and duties

  • General day-to-day reception duties and management;
  • Answer telephone calls and take detailed messages / file notes;
  • Coordinate and assist with booking appointments and client intake;
  • Coordinate file management procedures, including opening of files, archiving and file maintenance;
  • Process and dispatch mail;
  • Assist in all aspects of the administration section;
  • Draft correspondence and follow up on document requirements;
  • Process routine and non-routine office forms;
  • Production of relevant legal documentation;
  • Photocopy documents;
  • Assist in settlements/exchanges/court filing; 
  • Provide any general office assistance as required; and
  • Maintain stationery supplies including contracts, folders, and hand-outs.

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated, confident and reliable. Ideally, your background and skills should include:

  • General legal experience;
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, together with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities;
  • High level of typing speed and accuracy; 
  • Commitment to efficiency, orderliness, courtesy and intellectual discipline;
  • Proficient written and oral skills; and
  • Strong attention to detail.
