Located on Gadigal and Bidjigal land (Randwick NSW), Black Dog Institute is the only Medical Research Institute in Australia to investigate mental health across the lifespan, our aim is to create a mentally healthier world for everyone. Desired Skills and Experience
The Role
the RAP Officer will collaborate and support the RAP working group to drive the development of the Innovate RAP and implementation of the Reconciliation Action Plan across the Institute. The Officer will drive staff engagement with Cultural Responsiveness training and work closely with the Director of P&C to meet org wide KPI's related to completion of staff competency component of the RAP. The role reports to the Director of People and Culture and sits within a wider team of 8 People and Culture employees.
Duties & Responsibilities
Reconciliation Action Plan Coordination
  • Coordination and chair of Reconciliation Action Plan Working group and group meetings, coordinate and document meetings and report progress towards finalisation of the Innovate RAP
  • Liaise with Reconciliation Australia over finalisation and approval of the Innovate RAP
  • Report to the ELT with regular updates on the RAP process and approval
  • Attend all RAP Working Group meetings to ensure timelines are met and objectives are being actioned and progressed
Implementation of the Reflect RAP
  • Collaborate across Directorates to ensure regular updates and alignment of all activities related to the Reflect RAP implementation
  • Collaborate with L&D, Internal comms and the RAP committee and First Nations Strategy Implementation Directorate to drive engagement with and a collective approach to Staff cultural awareness training
Skills & Experience Required
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively and build productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Knowledge and experience with topics relevant to the development and implementation of Reconciliation Action Plans, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander procurement; and employee engagement including cultural competency
  • Proven time management and organisational skills to successfully meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with an ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present in group forums
