The Opportunity
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and highly skilled administrative professional to join our team. As Records Officer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and managing Council's corporate records in compliance with legislative obligations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintain records in accordance with Council's Records Management Policy and the State Records Act
- Effectively manage and organise records using CM10 and paper-based systems
- Supervise the Records Assistant
- Provide support and training to other staff in the use of CM10 as required
- Administer the CM10 database and explore opportunities for its expansion and integration with other software
- Undertake various additional duties including acting as Council's Right to Information Officer and participating in tender processes
Key requirements of the role
- Significant records management experience, preferably in local government
- Experience in the administration and use of electronic document and records management systems, preferably CM10
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislative frameworks such as the State Records Act 1998 and General Retention and Disposal Authorities
- Current driver's licence
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to adapt to workplace changes including the introduction of new technology
- High level organisational skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- High degree of personal integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
