Specialty Settlements & Litigation are looking for customer driven individuals to join our Recoveries & Settlements team in Melbourne & Brisbane as Recoveries and Settlements Consultants.

We have 1x 10-month contract and 1x 12-month full time contracts available offering 37.5 hours per week.

What you'll do

As a Recoveries and Settlements Consultant, you will be responsible for effectively managing a portfolio of settlement claims for all of our consumer brands. This role will primarily deal with litigious entities that engage in credit repair and/ or credit hire recoveries across all states within Australia. This role is also responsible for managing insurer demands that are associated to claims within the allocated portfolio. Ensuring there are sufficient estimates on a claim & negotiating liability to maximise every settlement savings opportunity. You will deliver exceptional customer care contributing to getting our customers Back on the Road, whilst also contributing, innovating, and adapting your contribution in line with our best-in-class claims strategy.

In addition, you will also:

  • Handle customer enquiries about existing insurance claims providing a superior customer service experience.
  • Proactively call to manage claims and set expectations, whilst also setting up the next steps for success.
  • Efficiently make decisions within your delegation of authority & make appropriate recommendations when the authority is exceeded.
  • Maintain clear and concise communication demonstrating empathy and understanding towards all customers.
  • Contribute to positive customer outcomes through taking ownership and progressing claims whilst exceeding daily targets.
  • Contribute to the team by offering ideas & feedback through monthly leader meetings, team meetings and weekly standups.

What you'll bring

  • Previous experience within Insurance Claims or similar would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong resilience & the ability to manage in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to analyse data and make appropriate & timely decisions.
  • Work autonomously and the ability to work on several projects at once interchangeably.
  • Ability to deal with conflict.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of:
  • Insurance Contracts Act,
  • General Insurance Code of Practice and
  • road rules.
  • Confident communication skills - verbal & written.

Training Period

You will undergo an initial eight weeks of training which will be onsite on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday 08:30am - 5:00pm (AEST). It will combine classroom style training and high support based in Melbourne & Brisbane.

Working from Home

This role is a hybrid role and will offer you the opportunity to work from home after your training and a further high support period. We expect you to attend the office two days per week for the first six months.

To successfully work from home, you will require:

  • Dual monitors
  • Ergonomic set up with desk and chair in a quiet, private space.

We will provide you with a laptop, telephone, and headset to perform your role.
