About the Position:

As a Recovery at Work Coordinator you will be out and about meeting with injured staff members, managers and medical professionals in aim of supporting our staff to Recovery at Work.

As one of our Recovery at Work Coordinators you will be responsible for supporting injured Staff members, health managers and liaising with medical and insurance  professionals to facilitate the Recovery at Work and Workers Compensation processes. You will be responsible for providing expert advice on return-to-work policy and Workers’ Compensation legislation as well as monitoring and developing Recovery at Work plans.

About the Team:

As our successful candidate, you will be joining Hunter New England’s Safety and Risk Unit, working with an experienced and supportive team that balance the needs of the organisation whilst supporting injured staff through the Workers’ Compensation pathway. The role is based at our Waratah Campus here in Newcastle offering a prime location to shops, cafes, and don’t forget free onsite parking.

We are seeking a driven candidate demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop rapport with various stakeholders. The successful candidate will have adept knowledge related to rehabilitation/allied health/medical terminology/workers' compensation.
Completion of SIRA Return to Work Coordinator training is preferable however not essential and training can be completed upon commencement if required.

This is a Category B position. Recommended applicants will be reviewed for compliance with NSW Health policy directive PD2023_022: Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases for Category B positions prior to offer. All new employees must agree to comply with thl,oe requirements outlined in the policy. 
 
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (AIR Immunisation History Statement) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.  

 Acceptable proof of COVID-19 vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement (IHS), or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate, or AIR COVID-19 and Influenza IHS. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.?
