About Research Services 
Research Services is responsible for providing integrated business and research management support for researchers and research activity across the University. The team have a strong focus on research strategy and development, income generation and ethical review.

About the Role
Western’s Office of Research Services is seeking an experienced Research Development Officer to join the team.
The Research Development Officer will collaborate closely with academic staff  to promote, advise on and drive successful grant applications, diversify funding sources and contribute to achieving external research income targets. Your responsibilities will span a wide range of activities, emphasising growth and quality.

In this role, you will establish strong connections with external funding bodies and fellow researchers with the goal of rapidly and sustainably forging partnerships across a diverse spectrum of external agencies. The Research Development Officer will deep dive into the needs, potential of our researchers and the aims of our research strategy. You’ll provide expert advice on submission writing, foster academic collaboration, build and enhance knowledge of the research sector. In this role you will drive sector-leading processes and quality assurance mechanisms. 

This is a full-time ongoing position commencing from August 2024 based at Penrith Campus, although travel to other campuses of the University may be required.

About You
The successful application will have a degree qualification and relevant experience or an equivalent combination of professional achievement/education and training. Applicants are expected to be (and remain) up to date with a vast array of research funding opportunities and schemes. You will have a proven track record in developing collaborations and partnerships with a wide range of external partners. High level interpersonal, negotiation, computer literacy and problem-solving skills are essential.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 7 $117,645 to $126,892 p.a. (comprising Salary of $99,411 to $107,225 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
