About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced HVAC&R Service Manager & Estimator who can effectively lead a team of technicians, ensure compliance with industry standards, and drive customer satisfaction through exceptional service delivery and strong stakeholder engagement, who likes to challenge their knowledge and is willing to learn more about marine HVAC&R equipment.

Your role would be major part of a small team.

We promote a work/life balanced lifestyle working a 9-day fortnight, having every second Friday off. Our work is mostly marine based.

We work on the Service M8 platform for job reporting, procurement, job scheduling etc. Experience with this or similar systems would be a benefit. Intermediate MS Word and Excel skills is essential. Ultimately, we are looking for you to become part of our leadership team.

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Using and keeping Service M8 up to date
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate job requirements and or review customer Scope of Works.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, considering labour, equipment, materials, and any additional services required.
  • Optimise operational efficiencies through effective planning, time management, and stock management practices.
  • Collaborate with the team from start to finish to coordinate all works for projects/jobs.
  • Support Technicians and Apprentices
  • Diagnosing issues and problem-solving solutions for Breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance, and new installations for a variety of refrigeration and HVAC systems and equipment.
  • Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Processing of reports as required

Skills and experience

Our company is seeking a highly motivated individual who enjoys working alongside others and takes pride in their work. 

The ideal candidate would also have:

  • Minimum of five years of field experience in the HVAC&R industry, with demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • RHL & REL
  • White Card
  • Forklift licence (preferred not essential)
  • Must be an Australian Citizen for site security purposes
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and carry out duties in various conditions.
  • Ability to read/interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to use manual tools. 
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Current Australian Driver’s License
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate MS Office skills
  • Ability to obtain federal clearance for our ongoing Naval support
  • Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical including a Drug & Alcohol Test
  • Good time management skills
