It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.Our RoleAs we continue to expand our team to ensure success in developing our new infrastructure, we have created some new roles to support our operations further.The Refrigeration Plant Technician’s primary responsibility is to oversee the safe and efficient operation of the refrigeration system at our underground mine. Additionally, you will manage the site's water resources, ensuring responsible usage and compliance with site and environmental standards.Key Duties include:

• Operate and monitor the ammonia refrigeration system to maintain efficient cooling for mine.
• Monitor and assess the performance of equipment, taking proactive measures to address any issues or inefficiencies.
• Monitor and manage the site's water resources, ensuring responsible usage and compliance with environmental regulations.
• Manage all Refrigeration Plant and water asset’s as the area owner.
• Implement water conservation measures and contribute to sustainable water practices.
• Perform work to a high level of quality, ensuring that all tasks meet established standards.
• Act as the task lead during shutdowns, overseeing and ensuring that work is completed safely and to the highest quality.
• Provide safe and efficient refrigeration services, involving the repair, servicing, and maintenance of Newmont Tanami’s refrigeration infrastructure when required.
• Share knowledge, skills, and information with team members, contributing to the overall skill development of the group and site.
• Actively work toward zero harm in the workplace by prioritizing and promoting a safety-first culture.

This opportunity is being offered as a 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth, Brisbane or Darwin.
