Qantas Ground Services (QGS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Qantas Airways and we’re responsible for providing ground handling services to the Qantas Group.
As the Regional Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for people and culture functions for QGS Airport Operations in Sydney. You will support the day of operations activities within QGS, improving relationships with key stakeholders, assisting in problem resolution, supporting changes in process and training, as well as leading key cultural change initiatives.
You will work together with multiple stakeholders to understand their needs and make sure that conflicting demands are solved in the best interest of different parties involved.
The role is also responsible for the customer interface and coordination of recruiting employees, injury management (minor to complex), people performance (complex), stakeholder management and relationships whilst ensuring policy and regulatory compliance.
In addition, this role will regularly interface with internal Qantas Group Customers to achieve an effective operational presence and to ensure that stakeholder queries are answered and insights are used to improve processes.
You’ll have –
Minimum 5 years previous experience in a supervisory/leadership role, ideally within aviation operations
Ability to demonstrate a commonsense approach to problem-solving and can assess complex situations effectively to achieve the best possible results
Ability to work quickly and effectively under time pressure to meet deadlines in a constantly changing operational environment
Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate effectively with staff, stakeholders and management at all levels and be able to deal professionally with external and internal customers and departments.
Commitment to improve roster efficiency and utilisation including excellent decision making and organisational skills
Strong customer orientation with an ability to build constructive and effective working relationships with stakeholders
Demonstrated experience managing complex employment cases, including but not limited to misconduct, injury management and performance management
Drive employee performance culture to create an engaged workforce, maintain a positive work environment and drive team engagement.
Promoting a safety culture with a proactive approach to WHS to achieve reduction in injuries to employees and damage to company assets.
