About the role
Regional Development Specialists are responsible for maximizing fundraising opportunities, community engagement and awareness of Cancer Council Queensland’s mission across the state, within your dedicated region.
This role will be specifically responsible for the Cairns and Far North Queensland Region.
With support and oversight from the Statewide Development Manager, the Regional Development Specialist works to deliver key revenue and engagement strategies, servicing five core activity pillars within the Revenue and Engagement unit: Philanthropy, Corporate Investment, Campaigns and Events, Community Engagement, and Local Area Marketing in your region.
This position is a critical frontline manager within the Revenue and Engagement unit, experienced in fundraising, partnerships and/or relationship management to increase our impact statewide.
Tactically, you will contribute to growth strategies for your specific region and provide guidance, advice, and reporting to deliver on these strategies. The position is accountable to revenue and engagement KPIs, engagement and commercial strategy development within your region, risk, quality and compliance, and stakeholder liaison both internally and externally.
This role is Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours/week).
About you
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- A valid Australian Drivers License (Open or Provisional – for motor vehicles).
- A current First Aid Certificate (including currency of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) skills), or have the ability to obtain one (which will be paid by CCQ).
- Experience developing winning proposals, including from local government grants, individual and corporate donors.
- Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal), good editing skills and the ability to tailor communication materials for different audiences.
- Confident networker with experience building and maintaining productive relationships with a range of donors and stakeholders.
- Commitment to providing effective support to peers, volunteers and partners possessing a range of skills and experience.
- Experience delivering funding strategies in line with organisation capacities and program strategies and achieving funding targets.
- Business and financial literacy, ability to analyse and devise robust budgets that deliver full cost recovery.
- Organised and methodical approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience in a similar role in a not-for-profit organisation in Australia.
- Relevant higher education degree.
- Demonstrated commitment to for purpose organisations.
