Guided by the Charter for Catholic Schools in the Edmund Rice Tradition, the Regional Director of Education (WA/SA) at EREA Colleges is a significant contributor to the leadership of the Governing Body for 20 Colleges and early learning centres operating throughout Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory. Working very closely with the CEO, the Regional Director of Education has specific delegated responsibilities for the oversight of EREA Colleges and centres operating in Western Australia and South Australia by providing supervision and support to Principals, school leaders and school communities, in collaboration with other senior EREA Colleges staff.
The Regional Director of Education (WA/SA) is a member of the EREA Colleges Leadership Team and works closely with the CEO, Regional Director of Education (Qld, ACT, Tas) other EREA Colleges Directors, as well as EREA Ltd national staff in the areas of mission and identity.
Principals and Deputy Principals report to the CEO through the Regional Director of Education (WA/SA).
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Commencing in January 2025, the Regional Director of Education – WA/SA will have delegated responsibility and oversight of a varied portfolio of seven schools across Western Australia and South Australia. Reporting to the CEO, and collaborating closely with the Regional Director of Education – Qld/ACT/Tas and other senior EREA Colleges staff, this is a diverse role supporting and working collaboratively with a group of Principals, school leaders and school communities.
This role is based in either Perth or Adelaide.
Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:
Principal and school supervision and support.
Educational performance, strategy and reporting.
Supporting senior appointment and appraisal processes.
Leadership development and succession planning.
School improvement.
School accreditation and registration, renewal, sustainability and development.
Network growth and strategy.
Relationships and stakeholder engagement, including system and Catholic Church authorities and government and regulators.
ABOUT YOU:
To succeed in the role you will have:
Relevant qualifications in Education, Leadership, Religious Education, Theology or a related discipline.
Relevant experience in senior educational leadership roles, including significant experience in system or senior school leadership roles, preferably within a Catholic education system.
Proven track record of providing effective supervision, mentoring and professional support to senior leaders.
Experience in analysing and interpreting educational data, including academic performance, attendance, student wellbeing measures, and workforce characteristics, to develop evidence-based strategies for improvement.
Demonstrated experience in supporting the development of strategic plans to enhance educational performance, sustainability, and identity in educational institutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a strong history of building positive and collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders, including school communities, Catholic Education Offices, and other partner organisations.
Comprehensive knowledge of Education regulatory requirements, ensuring full compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
A strong commitment to ensuring the safety and inclusivity of children within educational environments, with a thorough understanding of child safeguarding policies and best practices.
A deep commitment to and advocacy for the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition.
