Rewarding Role in Growth Industry
Cotton Australia is the cotton industry’s peak grower body. It works to represent growers, maximise industry sustainability and performance and enhance perceptions in the community.
A permanent position is available within the team for a motivated and energetic team player to service the important cotton areas of the Namoi and Gwydir Valleys.
The role involves:
- Most importantly supporting growers in the implementation of the industry’s voluntary environmental program (myBMP), also
- Introducing growers to Cotton Australia (and other industry bodies), and outlining the work they do on behalf of the cotton industry;
- Working with regional Cotton Grower Associations and water user groups to collect feedback on grower priorities as well as communicating Cotton Australia’s activities back to growers.
- Representing the industry to a range of regional stakeholders including community and natural resource management groups and local government;
- Organising industry events and workshops;
The position will work closely with members of the cotton industry’s extension team - CottonInfo.
The successful applicant will ideally have tertiary qualifications in Agricultural or Environmental Science or a related field and some experience, dealing with farmers. Previous experience within the cotton industry would be favourably looked upon, as would a familiarity with agriculture in Northern NSW.
While there is flexibility around where this position will be based, we do have an office in Narrabri NSW so that is preferred. Extensive travel throughout the region will be required.
An attractive salary package, including 4WD vehicle will be negotiated, based on experience.
