Regional Manager - Western Region

Located at our Bibra Lake Office, Perth.

Large and Modern Workshop Facility in Bibra Lake…

OPS own and operate from large modern facilities; our Bibra Lake facility has 28,000 square meters of land and 6,000 square meters of workshop. Boasting 9 overhead cranes, an extremely modern facility, supporting equipment repairs, rebuilds, brand new equipment assembly, and repair and maintenance of the company owned large hire fleet.

About the Opportunity…..

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will apply your experience, skills and abilities to manage and mentor a team of dedicated, hardworking people within the Western Region.  You will drive our vision, mission and values and align our business, with our clients’ objectives.  You will ensure OPS delivers superior products and services and instill confidence that we have the right solution to our client’s requirements.  All the while ensuring all OPS Business Units and Companies are achieving sales and profitability targets that are managed professionally and ethically. 

You will have overall responsibility over our Western Australian operations and all business units within the region. You will build on our existing business and customer base by establishing new relationships, expanding business units and searching for new opportunities. You will uphold and present yourself in the most professional, honest, and ethical manner at all times and work towards establishing reciprocal trust, respect and confidence with customers, suppliers and colleagues.

Position Description…..

Some of your duties will include:

  • Daily management of our Western Regions’ business units, providing leadership to both our customers and Regional Teams to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Establish sales goals and develop plans to achieve them, working with teams to implement strategies to increase market share.
  • Oversee P&L responsibility for the Regions’ business units, including preparation and working within or exceeding the agreed budget, monitoring, and forecasting, and providing cost updates. This includes approval of all customer quotes and proposals for the Regions’  business units.
  • Oversee all repairs, predelivery, commissioning, modification, upgrade, overhaul, and preventative maintenance to equipment covering both workshop and field services.
  • Coordinate and assist with receiving job estimates, work performance and asset management, providing input and feedback and strong client communication.
  • Provide application support, including application analysis, plant layout designs, process flow designs, equipment selections, mobilisation, setup and commissioning logistics, operational technical support, routine and breakdown parts and service to the customer.
  • Analyse market requirements, trends, strategies, initiatives and identify potential niche and winning edge products
  • Oversee competitive pricing and inventory policies to achieve budgets.
  • Compile, review and analyse monthly reports and operating business costs
  • Work with your team to establish forward plans to meet key deliverables within the business unit
  • Promote and operate in a safe, efficient, and effective manner, with a goal of ‘zero injuries & zero equipment damage’.

About you….

Qualifications / Tickets / Licenses:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or mechanical trade background is preferred.
  • Current Driver’s License. 

Skills, Experience and Abilities:

  • Minimum 5 years’ comprehensive understanding of screening and crushing operations, with a minimum of 2 years experience in mobile mineral processing, quarry mining processing plant, bulk materials handing or similar.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with the hire and sales of mineral processing and bulk materials handling of heavy industrial equipment.
  • Previous Regional Manager experience with a strong established customer base would be advantageous.
  • Strong people management skills, including ability to lead by example, ability to counsel and discipline workers as required.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers.
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritise work schedules.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent computer literacy skills, including Office Suite and Pronto (preferred).
