Contribute to conservation as a Project Officer and deliver the Southern Brown Bandicoot Program within Yallock-Bulluk Marine & Coastal Park and Adams Creek Nature Conservation Reserve.

About the role

As the Project Officer SBB (Southern Brown Bandicoot Protection Program), you will primarily deliver the operational, community engagement, and reporting requirements of the Southern Brown Bandicoot Protection Project. The Southern Brown Bandicoot Protection Project is guided by an agreed service agreement between Vic Roads and Parks Victoria until June 2025.

You will be required to work closely with staff from the South Gippsland District Team, as well as key staff from the Regional Operations Team. Communication skills and an ability to work independently without direct supervision are key requirements of this position.

Your tasks will include:

  • Prepare project brief, offer for services & coordinate the engagement of contractor for monitoring and control program
  • Manage and coordinate monitoring and control program
  • Prepare documentation approval requirements including the use of 1080 approval, neighbour notifications and public notices related to the program as required
  • Prepare documentation including project brief and engagement of contractor to development and install interpretative signage

We're looking for someone with:

  • Tertiary qualification in Science or equivalent is highly desirable
  • Strong project management and stakeholder relationship management
  • Land Management experience or equivalent experience in operational services
