Job description

The Department of Communities brings together the services and functions of disability services, child protection and family support, housing, community initiatives and regional services reform.

The Opportunity As Regional Recovery Officer you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all debt recovery for Tenants in occupation within the Region.  Further to this, the position is expected to negotiate outcomes that save tenancies that are at the highest risk of eviction where the Department has the opportunity to proceed with eviction.

Please note that part of the role of the Regional Recovery Officer is to attend Court.  The Department is precluded from being represented by a Legal Practitioner or a legally qualified person as prescribed in the Residential Tenancies Act 1987 (WA).

Some of you duties will include:

  • Preparing documentation for all Court hearings, attending Court as required and initiating action resulting from Court decisions.
  • Preparing Reports and Submissions on arrears and debt recovery.
  • Interviewing and counseling Tenants regarding debts and repayment options.

There is currently one (1) permanent position available for immediate filling located in Midland.
