The team at Garmin are looking to expand. We are looking for a highly motivated professional to develop new Retail and Technical Dealer Sales and cultivate/expand sales with existing Marine and Entertainment accounts but also other Garmin accounts where required. This position will have contact with and direction from other product managers to execute market requirements. This position will be based from home but most time spent will be out in the field.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Professionally promote Garmin marine product portfolio through retail and technical dealer channels.
- Establish and execute assigned sales plans, sales promotions.
- Establish and maintain dealer relationships.
- Exceptional territory development and management.
- Maintain and grow Market share within region.
- Prepare and maintain monthly sales forecasts for assigned region.
- Develop and execute strategies to increase market share and profits within a specific region.
- Monitor market for and report needs to meet sales objectives and profit goals.
- Create and make sales presentations to prospective and existing accounts.
- Attend and help coordinate trade shows, dealer related events and other marketing events when required.
- Travel with little or no supervision.
- Educate dealers on all Garmin marine products.
- Perform product training sessions for dealers when required.
- High level of business analytic skills.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Excellent product and pricing knowledge and Retail merchandising.
- Travel to Sydney and Brisbane offices for training and sales meetings when required.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures.
- Works effectively and professionally with other team members, learns from and shares knowledge with others by documenting and contributing to knowledge base.
EDUACATON, EXPEREINCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 2+ years experience in Sales and marketing, and/or equivalent (an advantage).
- Met and/or exceeded past sales goals.
- Extremely self-motivated.
- Exceptional communication oral/written and interpersonal relationship skills.
- Must have excellent territory and time management skills.
- Proven track record of sales successes and thinking outside the square.
- Excellent organisation skills
- Electrical or technical background, preferably in the marine industry.
- Diagnosis and problem-solving skills.
- Personal experience in marine recreational activities.
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to present to large groups.
- Current car and boat license essential.
- Passport as international travel may be required.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS :
- Experience in marine industry dealing with technical electronics.
- Experienced in the installation of marine electronics.
- Experienced and active sailor or fisherperson.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint.
- NMEA 2000 qualified.
- Airmar Qualified
