Herston Private Hospital has 3 operating theatres, 8 first stage recovery bays, 8 second stage recliners and 7 overnight short stay beds. It is conveniently located across Bowen Bridge Road, 200 metres from the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and conveniently offering 300 on-site and undercover car parking spaces.

As a Registered or Enrolled Nurse in the Post Anaesthetic care unit you will a member of a dynamic team that ensures the exceptional delivery of patient-centred care. You will work collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to support patient care needs, including education. You will contribute to quality improvement and safety and be a role model for safe practice.

Applicants will be required to provide evidence of:
- Registered with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or equivalent as a Registered or Enrolled Nurse
- Minimum two (2) years' recent experience as a PACU Recovery Nurse with current paediatric recovery experience
- A post graduate certificate in Perioperative or PACU nursing, or working towards (considered highly advantageous)

Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated understanding of the roles and functions of a Perioperative/PACU Nurse
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Knowledge of National Safety and Quality and Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
- Friendly, positive, effective communication skills that demonstrate an ability to develop and maintain relationships within teams and with external clients.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and their carers/families.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and experience in the implementation of patient-centred, high quality clinical care.
- Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high functioning team.
- Proactive, motivated and customer focused.
