What you'll be doing:
A fabulous opportunity is now available for a New Graduate Registered Midwife to join the team in Caseload. This position is a Temporary Full Time role. The Caseload Midwifery within Women and Children’s Health Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District is an established collaborative midwifery service with individualised continuity of care through pregnancy, labour and the early postnatal period.
The Caseload midwife must demonstrate a broad range of midwifery skills and knowledge to provide care relevant to the woman’s needs across the continuum of pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period. The Caseload Midwife will be involved in planning, coordinating and implementing care for a group of women as well as providing support to other staff. The Caseload midwife will actively participate in continuous midwifery practice development and in the evaluation and continuous service development in collaboration with the Nursing Unit Manager of the Women and Children's health services at Nepean Hospital with support from the Midwifery Manager, Midwifery Educators and the Clinical Midwifery Consultant.
This role will see you ensure optimal outcomes for women and their families of the service through the promotion of best practice including the appropriate escalation of care and to work collaboratively utilising effective team communication with members of the multidisciplinary health team in the planning, implementation, assessment and evaluation of patient care, At all times you will act as an advocate for the specific needs of all women and their families including those from the indigenous population or other multi-cultural groups providing appropriate care to the woman undergoing specialised procedures.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection criteria to be addressed: * Current registration to practice as a Registered Midwife (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
- Current New Graduate Midwife with skills in Antenatal, Birthing and Postnatal care
- Interest in working in Caseload model of care
- Willing to undertake further education
- Flexibility in rostering and on call availability
- Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel
