  • Salary: $72,651 - $99,129 p.a. (pro rata) – RM1 - Ongoing Part-Time – working 32 hours per week

About You:

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Registered Midwife within the Women and Children's Division.

Consistent with NALHN's values, we are looking for a midwife with a passion for improving the health and wellbeing of women and families. The successful applicant will assist in leading and growing our Home Visiting Midwife service.

The Home Visiting Midwives provide a wide range of postnatal midwifery services within the community to support families within the LMH catchment - North and North-eastern suburbs of Adelaide.

These postnatal services include:

  • Routine postnatal care of mothers and babies within the first week of life.
  • LSCS management and wound care.
  • Breastfeeding / Formula feeding support.
  • Neonatal weight management.
  • Routine screening of mothers and babies.
  • Home Phototherapy and ongoing jaundice management.
  • Community engagement for vulnerable families.

This highly specialised unit is innovative, and client focussed with exceptional outcomes. The right person for this role has a ‘can-do’ attitude. You will be driven, collaborative and supportive with a commitment to growing yourself and the people you work alongside.

As a Registered Midwife you will provide midwifery services in health service settings. In this role you will develop from a novice practitioner to a proficient level of professional practice and consolidate knowledge and skills, developing in capability through continuous professional development and experience. In this role you will accept accountability for you own standards of midwifery care and for activities delegated to others.

To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate, OR be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse and Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
