About Barwon Health’s General and Specialist Medicine
Our Acute General and Specialist Medicine wards are located across two buildings and include the following:
University Hospital Geelong
- Heath Wing 2 (HW2) – 18 bed neurology and stroke unit.
- Baxter 7 (Bax 7) – 32 bed general medicine, endocrinology and infectious diseases unit.
- Heath Wing 7 (HW7) – 32 bed general medicine and respiratory ward.
- Birdsey Wing 7 (BW7) – A new 16 bed medical gastroenterology ward
- Bellerine Centre 6 North – General Medicine, Gastroenterology, Renal and Chronic Pain Management
Young Surgical Centre
- Rapid Assessment and Planning Unit (RAPU) – 16 bed short stay medical unit.

As the successful applicant you will:
- Have excellent time management, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate sound clinical knowledge and excellent clinical skills,
- Provide evidence based, high quality care to patients.
- Deliver consumer-centred care that meets best practice standards and in line with Barwon Health requirements.
