MOR Healthcare is in need of Anaesthetic & Recovery nurses that are looking for casual work twice a week.
You would be working for a Day Procedure Center (Mobile) with the Department of Health and Human Services that provides a General Anaesthesia service to Dental Clinics across Melbourne.
You will be required to work autonomously with the Anaesthetist at assigned dental clinics across Melbourne, assisting the Anaesthetist with major and minor dental cases. If it's a major dental case you will also need to look after the patient in recovery. If you don't have recovery experience the client is happy to train you as long as you have anaesthetics experience.
Hourly rate: casual $70.00 per hour plus superannuation (6-10 hour shifts)
Location: Happy to travel across Melbourne
Role: casual shifts to fill Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (need nurses who have availability to cover two of these days)
Procedures that are performed:
- General Dental – Restorative
- Minor surgical – removal of wisdom teeth, teeth extraction, insertion of an implant
- Major surgical - All-on-4, sinus lift, bone grafting
Anaesthetic requirements:
- Nasal intubation – for most cases
- Flexible LMA – for minor cases (e.g. Extraction of teeth, removal 4 x 8)
- TIVA – for all cases
Nurse ratios:
Majority of the time it is 1 on 1 nursing. Most cases range between 3 - 6 hours.
If there are 1-2 patients on the list, the nurse will be required to do the recovery and discharge as well. The 2nd patient would not get started until the 1st patient meets discharge criteria. If there are more than 2 cases, there will be a designated PACU nurse allocated as well.
Candidate Specifications:
- AHPRA registered
- Clinical experience in Anaesthetics and PACU in an acute setting of 3 years plus
- ALS certification.
- Ability to cope with autonomous practice.
- High level of judgement and decision-making skills.
- Enthusiastic, reliable, punctual and self-motivated.
- Adaptable and flexible.
- Effectively manage the anaesthetic, recovery and discharge process throughout the patient’s journey as per the processes, policies & procedures.
