Registered Anaesthetic Nurses 

Permanent Part-Time (various hours up to 72 hours/fortnight)

Salary range: Registered Nurse level 1: From July 2024, $42.16/hour (1st year) to $54.08/hour (7th year) plus superannuation and benefits

About you:

You are a passionate, dedicated and skilled Registered Anaesthetic Nurse seeking a fulfilling career opportunity in a renowned regional private hospital.  You thrive playing a crucial role in providing high-quality anaesthetic care to patients undergoing surgical procedures and you have a high level of clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Anaesthetic Care and Support: Ensure the readiness and functionality of anaesthetic equipment while aiding the anaesthetist throughout all stages of anaesthesia. Monitor patient vital signs, provide intra-operative anaesthetic nursing care, and collaborate with surgical teams to ensure a smooth perioperative journey, all while maintaining meticulous records and adhering to hospital protocols.
  • Comprehensive Patient Care: Provide compassionate and evidence-based nursing care to patients, promoting both physical and emotional well-being. As a member of the multidisciplinary team use critical assessments skills to ensure the delivery of comprehensive patient centred care. 
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work seamlessly with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes and participate actively in rounds, contributing valuable insights and fostering open communication among team members.
  • Communication: Foster effective communication within the healthcare team, ensuring that relevant information is shared in a timely manner and communicate with patients and families with empathy and professionalism.
  • Patient and Family Care: Be an advocate for the surgical patient during their anaesthetic care.
  • Exceptional Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to rigorous documentation standards and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements, contributing to the delivery of high-quality and safe patient care.

Your experience and skills:

  • Strong knowledge of anaesthetic procedures, medications, and equipment
  • Well-developed communication skills to convey complex medical information in a clear and understandable manner with an ability to negotiate and influence 
  • Excellent team building skills and capabilities 
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload demands
  • Effective problem-solving skills and an ability to make timely and informed decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to effectively work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based practice and critical thinking

Mandatory Qualification/Professional Registration/Other Requirements:

  • Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certified, or willing and able to obtain qualification
  • Available to work morning, and afternoon shifts in a rotating roster
  • Once orientated and trained, participate in a rotating on call roster
  • A minimum of 1 year post graduate experience in perioperative nursing 
  • Engagement is subject to the applicant fully satisfying the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirements and evidence must be produced as part of the recruitment process.
  • Rights to work legally in Australia - sponsorship is not available for this role.

Desirable

  • Previous anaesthetics nursing experience
