The Opportunity
St John is seeking applications from experienced Registered Nurses with a strong medical background in ED or mine site or remote location to join our Casual Pool of personnel for FIFO roles across WA.
About You
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse individuals and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong understanding of occupational health and safety principles
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care, including assessments, treatment, and health education, to the workforce at Rio Tinto sites.
- Conduct health screenings, provide emergency response and first aid services, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, participate in health promotion activities, and contribute to ongoing training and professional development initiatives.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with current unrestricted AHPRA registration.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in emergency or occupational health settings.
- Current CPR certificate
- Driver's Licence (C) - Manual
- National Police clearance Certificate (issued within last three months)
- Cannulation competent
- Drug and Alcohol Tester Certificate (willing to obtain)
- Advance First Aid (CPR) Certificate or ALS1 or ALS2 Certificate
- Certificate III in Response and Rescue - desirable
- Rio Tinto Induction (under 1 year validity) - highly advantageous
