About the role
The Registered Nurse supports excellence in nursing care and patient outcomes, is a competent clinician who provides nursing care with clinical competence and capability, optimising access to care services. The Registered Nurse works in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to provide the delivery of clinical service and support specific to reprocessing of reusable medical devices within Central Sterilising Department used within healthcare setting.
The Registered Nurse Central Sterilising Department provides contemporary, evidence-based nursing services and demonstrates competence in the provision of Reprocessing of reusable medical devices as specified by achievement of the Australian, International Standards and National Safety & Quality Health Services Standards of practice and registration requirements from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). This is evidenced by educational preparation, continuing professional development, adhering to relevant legislation and the context of care.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Contemporary clinical knowledge in the area of Sterilisation service, delivering competent service provision in complex situations while providing support to other team members.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, open communication and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard.
- Demonstrated high standard of written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to use or learn to use information systems appropriate to the position.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and contribution to quality improvement processes.
- Ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
