Contract length: Initial 6 month contract.

The Project
An industrial-scale renewable hydrogen construction project, providing feedstock into an operational Ammonia facility.
About the Role
The Mechanical Project Engineer is part of the project execution team.
The incumbent will act as focal point between the Owner Construction / Engineering team and EPC contractor for engineering issues related to site works.
Key responsibilities include verification that EPC contractor executes the construction per approved documents and resolving issues encountered during implementation.
- Verification and sign-off that works are completed in accordance with the approved design, standards, and Construction documents (Work packages, ITPs, ITCs, method specifications, etc.).
- Acting as focal point between EPC Contractor, Client, and Owner Engineering and Construction team to expeditiously resolve issues and site raised technical queries.
- Participate in construction readiness reviews and working closely with the project team and client to ensure all pre-requisites are met to allow Construction works to start.
- Material and equipment receipt inspections and reporting.
- Stakeholders engagement and management to support delivery of the project.
- Interfacing with EPC contractor, Client, Owners’ team and other stakeholders on daily basis as required to support project delivery.
- Tracking closure of punch lists, QA/QC documentation, and completion of works to reach mechanical completion.
- Tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering with a minimum 10 years’ experience (desired) relevant to the requirements of the role.
- Well-rounded engineering experience in multiple disciplines is preferred.
- Experience with HSE aspects of Construction works.
- Experience in on site field engineering role.
- Experience working for or acting on behalf of Owner.
- Experience in oil & gas industry and renewables is preferred.
- Experience working on large scale construction projects.
- Team player, strong communication and coordination skills and ability to collaboratively work with and drive contractors to achieve outcome in line with overall project objectives.
- Ability to work under pressure and to demanding timelines and adapt quickly to change.
- Proactive and self-motivated with drive for excellence.
- Excellent interpersonal awareness with ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Results driven, practical, responsible and accountable.
- Great problem-solving skills, self-motivated, and positive attitude.
- Intermediate computer skills e.g. Microsoft suite.
