About the Opportunity
Gastroenterology Clinical Trials Unit at Campbelltown Hospital is actively seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to fill the role of Clinical Trials Coordinator.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective time management skills, ensuring the holistic needs of patients, their families, or carers are met while maintaining a patient-centric approach in the face of conflicting priorities.
The successful candidate will uphold the principles of ICH-GCP and local standard operating procedures, ensuring accurate data collection for all patients enrolled in Clinical Trials. The role requires critical assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based and culturally appropriate nursing care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Effective communication with patients, carers, and the healthcare team is essential to provide safe, compassionate, and quality care.
The Clinical Trials Coordinator will also take responsibility for professional development, performance review, and actively contribute to the support, teaching, coaching, and development of others.
The role involves managing the Gastroenterology clinical trial portfolio within Campbelltown Hospital, encompassing selection, coordination, and reporting to ensure the effective development and conduct of Clinical Trials in accordance with ICH-GCP guidelines.

The Clinical Trials Coordinator - Registered Nurse will provide safe, compassionate, quality, person centred care and work in collaboration with patients/families/carers and a multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible. * Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

  • Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Nurse or Clinical Trials Coordinator in an environment appropriate to the relevant specialty
  • Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/understanding of the principles and practices of Clinical Trials and research participation
  • Demonstrated and well developed organizational and problem solving skills and demonstrated will developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft (MS) Outlook, Word and Excel with willingness to learn and use electronic medical information, reporting and data capture systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
