Registered Nurse - Community Mental Health (526419)

The role: The Registered Nurse - Community Mental Health:

• Consistent with ongoing experience, strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families and other health professionals and community sector organisations within the defined community practice area. 
• As part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering high quality Mental Health services, provides a specialist Mental Health service within the community setting for a designated client group utilising evidence based practices and recovery principles.
• Interact effectively with patients/clients families and other health team members to facilitate the provision of optimum patient/client care.
• Active involvement in maintaining and continually improving the quality of patient/client care which may include participation in research and evidence based practice.

It is an exciting time to come and join the Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS)!  As a part of the Mental Health Reform Program, OPMHS is transforming the way we work with our clients, staff and key stakeholders.  We provide: 

• community teams across Tasmania
• inpatient service for assessment and treatment
• day centre program in southern Tasmania
• case management

As a part of our unique Southern Community Team, you will work in a multidisciplinary team including Allied Health, Nursing and Medical staff, providing case management, working in partnership with our clients/consumers and their families.  We want staff who are innovative with a positive professional outlook, and who can work autonomously out in the community, as well as support a teamwork ethos.

Details of Appointment

Multiple permanent full time and part time, day worker positions working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. 

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

• Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $75,902 - $102,908 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Access to the Grade 4 salary range $96,558 - $102,908 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
• Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
2. Current Driver’s Licence
3. Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements)

It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. 1. Possess specialist tertiary graduate or postgraduate Mental Health/psychiatric nursing qualification
