OverviewFantastic opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse to work in the Consultant Rooms at Mount Gambier and Districts Health Service. The Registered Nurse provide nursing and/or midwifery services in health service settings. Employees working within this level develop from novice practitioners to a proficient level of professional practice. They consolidate knowledge and skills and develop in capability through continuous professional development and experience. An employee at this level accepts accountability for his or her own standards of nursing/midwifery care and for activities delegated to others.The responsibilities in Consulting Rooms include but are not limited to:

• Preparing patients for surgery via education and patient assessment
• Assisting with anaesthetic assessment clinics
• Assisting with local anaesthetic procedures
• Performing wound care

This is a part time vacancy, working 64 hours per fortnight, over a 5 day roster and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.About you

• You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife or Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
• Demonstrating sound knowledge and an understanding of the role of the Registered General Nurse/Midwife within a health care setting, you will bring the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• You will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a mental health setting, displaying a commitment to providing consumer and family-centred care.
• Strong communication skills including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
