Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership:
- Collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Manager and fellow RNs to identify staff performance strengths and areas for improvement.
- Mentor and coach nursing and care staff to maintain and enhance their skills.
- Create a compassionate environment by providing support to residents, families, and staff.
- Supervise resource management to ensure efficient and cost-effective care delivery.
2. Staffing Needs:
- Identify staffing needs and assist in recruitment, retention, and training efforts.
- Manage clinical rosters and address unexpected shortfalls or leave requirements.
- Stay updated on professional knowledge through educational workshops and training sessions.
3. Education:
- Plan and implement education programs to enhance staff performance and skill development.
- Assist staff in achieving performance goals through practical strategies and support.
- Monitor staff skills and identify training needs for continuous improvement.
4. Quality & Risk:
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Review and develop policies and procedures to support care provision.
- Supervise compliance with safety protocols and emergency procedures.
5. Medication & Resident Support:
- Oversee medication management and coordinate clinical care systems.
- Provide emotional support to residents, families, and staff.
- Ensure timely completion of resident assessments and documentation.
6. Expectations:
- Efficiently manage tasks and prioritize workload.
- Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster and undertake on-call duties.
- Adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and uniform standards.
- Respect residents' rights and promote their independence.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and staff information.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse qualification with current registration.
- Proven leadership skills and experience in Aged Care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
