About the role
The Statewide Opioid Substitution Treatment (OST) in Correctional Centres Model of Service underpins service delivery.
The OST Program is supported seven days per week across the six Correctional Centres in West Moreton Health. The shift pattern is an 8 hour roster on day shifts. This role works across all Correctional Centres in West Moreton Health.
The Registered Nurse supports excellence in nursing care and patient outcomes, is a competent clinician who provides nursing care with clinical competence and capability, optimising access to care services. The Registered Nurse works in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to provide person and family centred, quality, safe patient care.

About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Contemporary clinical knowledge in the area of Addiction or Alcohol and Other Drugs (AODs) nursing, delivering competent nursing care in complex situations while providing support to other team members.
- Ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, open communication and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard.
- Demonstrated high standard of written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to use or learn to use information systems appropriate to the position.
- Ability to provide clinical education and support.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and contribution to quality improvement processes.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16 (PDF) ( https://www.health.qld.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0009/150120/hed-0116.pdf )
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
