Prison Health Service is situated at the Townsville Correctional Centre and staff are subject to security and safety requirements of the Townsville Correctional Centre. The Townsville University Hospital has a Memorandum of Understanding with the Queensland Corrective Services (General Manager of the Townsville Correctional Centre) and is represented by the Queensland Health Nurse Unit Manager onsite.Staff are to familiarise themselves with the orientation and induction to the facility incorporating Correctional Service safety induction requirements including Corrective Services criminal history check as well as Queensland Health.Benefits
- Wage rate ranges between $51.33 - $65.84 p.h. (casual rate) (NG5)
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution

- Mandatory: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.
- Highly Desirable: Extensive experience in Primary Health Care and or Community Services.
- Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
- On call: Appointees may be required to participate in an on-call roster.
- Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
- Queensland Corrective Services Criminal History Check: Applicants are advised that this position works in a Queensland Corrective Services facility and requires employees and volunteers to have a current Queensland Corrective Services criminal history clearance as per the Corrective Services Act 2006.
