About the Opportunity
- Join a passionate, multidisciplinary healthcare team and work collaboratively to provide our young patients with safe, person centred care.
- Working in the small community town of Broken Hill, our staff love that they have the time to really take care of their patients. Once they’re discharged, you will have the time to ring them, offer reassurance and make sure they’re well on their way to living happier, healthier lives.
- Gain invaluable paediatrics nursing experience in a rural hospital setting.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and the changing status of the patient.
- Contribute to quality health care through life-long learning and professional development, research data generation, clinical supervision, mentoring, coaching and development of policy and clinical practice guidelines.
- Participate in relevant patient safety and quality education and deliver services in accordance with the National Patient Safety and Quality Standards.
- Complete documentation on patient care plans, progress reports, and referral practices in accordance with requirements and systematically assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care based on patient records.
- Provide appropriate supervision and/or mentoring for staff, including delegation of care to ENs and AINs according to their competence and within their scope of practice and the supervision of students on clinical placement.

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated application of professional and ethical boundaries to the delivery of patient care in the context of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to advocate for and implement individualised person centred care patient care.
- Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
- Demonstrated commitment to work and partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait, Islander patients and families and employees to enhance health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
- Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills within a multidisciplinary team.
